Here are a few IRS Changes in 1095-C forms from 2015 to 2016

  • The IRS has added instructions to the top of forms for recipient employees: “Do not attach to your tax return.  Keep for your records.” 
  • The “Qualifying Offer Transition Relief” code has been replaced with “Reserved”
  • New code “1J”  indicating “Minimum essential coverage providing minimum essential coverage NOT offered to your dependents(s).”
  • New code “IK” indicating “Minimum essential coverage providing minimum value offered to you; minimum essential coverage conditionally offered to your spouse; and minimum essential coverage offered to your dependent(s).”
